REVELATION

 

Chapter 6

The First Seal

 

Rev. 6:1 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) I saw (eidon) when (hote) the (to) little lamb (arnion) opened up (ēnoixen) one (mian) out (ek) of the (tōn) seven (hepta) seals (sphragidōn).  

 

And (kai) I heard (ēkousa) one (henos) out (ek) of the (tōn) four (tessarōn) living things (zōōn) saying (legontos), as (hōs) [a] voice (phōnē) of thunder (brontēs), “Cause yourself to come (erchou)!”

 

Rev. 6:2 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) I saw (eidon), and (kai) behold (idou), [a] white (leukos) horse (hippos), and (kai) the one (ho) causing himself to sit down (kathēmenos) upon (ep’) it (auton) holding (echōn) [a] bow (toxon)!  

 

And (kai) [a] crown (stephanos) was given (edothē) to him (autō).  

 

And (kai) he came out (exēlthen) conquering (nikōn), and (kai) that (hina) he may conquer (nikēsē).

 

The Second Seal

 

Rev. 6:3 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) when (hote) [the little lamb, v1, ER] opened up (ēnoixen) the (tēn) seal (sphragida), the (tēn) second (deuteran) [seal, RE], I heard (ēkousa) the (tou) second (deuterou) living thing (zōou) saying (legontos), “Cause yourself to come (erchou)!”

 

Rev. 6:4 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) another (allos) horse (hippos) came out (exēlthen), [a] fire-colored one (purros).  

 

And (kai) to the one (tō) causing himself to sit down (kathēmenō) upon (ep’) it (auton) there was given (edothē) to him (autō) to take (labein) the (tēn) peace (eirēnēn) out (ek) of the (tēs) land (gēs), and (kai) in order that (hina) they shall slaughter (sphaxousin) one another (allēlous).  

 

And (kai) there was given (edothē) to him (autō) [a] great (megalē) knife (machaira).

 

The Third Seal

 

Rev. 6:5 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) when (hote) [the little lamb, v1, ER] opened up (ēnoixen) the (tēn) seal (sphragida), the (tēn) third one (tritēn), I heard (ēkousa) the (tou) third (tritou) living thing (zōou) saying (legontos), “Cause yourself to come (erchou)!”  

 

And (kai) I saw (eidon), and (kai) behold (idou), [a] black (melas) horse (hippos).  

 

And (kai) the one (ho) causing himself to sit down (kathēmenos) upon (ep’) it (auton) holding (echōn) [a] yoke (zugon) in (en) the (tē) hand (cheiri) of him (autou).

 

Rev. 6:6 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) I heard (ēkousa) as (hōs) [a] voice (phōnēn) in (en) [the] midst (mesō) of the (tōn) four (tessarōn) living things (zōon), saying (legousan), “[A] choenix (choinix) of grain (sitou) for [a] denarius (dēnariou), and (kai) three (treis) choenixes (choinikes) of barleys (krithōn) for [a] denarius (dēnariou).

 

And (kai) to the (to) olive oil (elaion) and (kai) to the (ton) wine (oinon) you may not do unrighteousness (mē adikēsēs)."

 

The Fourth Seal

 

Rev. 6:7 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) when (hote) [the little lamb, v1, ER] opened up (ēnoixen) the (tēn) seal (sphragida), the (tēn) fourth one (tetartēn), I heard (ēkousa) [the] voice (phōnēn) of the (tou) fourth (tetartou) living thing (zōou) saying (legontos), “Cause yourself to come (erchou)!”

 

Rev. 6:8 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) I saw (eidon), and (kai) behold (idou), [a] pale-green (chlōros) horse (hippos).  

 

And (kai) the one (ho) causing himself to sit down (kathēmenos) upon (epanō) it (autou), [the] name (onoma) for him (autō) [is] the (ho) Death (thanatos).  

 

And (kai) the (ho) grave (hadēs) was following (ēkolouthei) with (met’) [the passing, AE] of him (autou).  

 

And (kai) authority (exousia) was given (edothē) to them (autois) over (epi) the (to) fourth (tetarton) of the (tēs) land (gēs), to kill (apokteinai) in (en) [a] Rhomphaia4501 (Rhomphaia), and (kai) in (en) famine (limō), and (kai) in (en) death (thanatō), and (kai) under (hupo) [authority, AE] of the (tōn) wild animals (thēriōn) of the (tēs) land (gēs).

 

The Fifth Seal

 

Rev. 6:9 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) when (hote) [the little lamb, v1, ER] opened up (ēnoixen) the (tēn) fifth (pemptēn) seal (sphragida), I saw (eidon) down under (hupokatō) the (tou) altar (thusiastēriou) the (tas) souls (psuchas) of the ones (tōn) having been slaughtered (esphagmenōn) through (dia) [the sake, AE] of the (ton) Word (logon) of the (tou) God (theou), and (kai) through (dia) [the sake, AE] of the (tēn) witness (marturian) which (hēn) they were holding (eichon).

 

Rev. 6:10 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) they cried out (ekraxan) [in, AE] [a] great (megalē) voice (phōnē), saying (legontes), “Until (heōs) when (pote) <does> the (ho) Master (despotēs), the (ho) holy one (hagios) and (kai) [a] true one (alēthinos), absolutely not (ou) judge (krineis) and (kai) avenge out (ekdikeis) the (to) blood (haima) of us (hēmōn) out (ek) of the ones (tōn) homing-down (katoikountōn) over (epi) the (tēs) land (gēs)!?”

 

Rev. 6:11 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) there was given (edothē) to them (autois), to each (hekastō), [a] white (leukē) stole (stolē).  

 

And (kai) it was stated (errethē) to them (autois) that (hina) they shall cause themselves to rest up (anapausontai) yet (eti) for [a] small (mikron) time (chronon) until (heōs) it may be fulfilled (plērōthōsin);

 

and (kai) the (hoi) slaves together with (sundouloi) them (autōn), and (kai) the (hoi) brothers (adelphoi) of them (autōn), the ones (hoi) being about (mellontes) to be killed (apoktennesthai), [may be judged and avenged, v10, RE]  as (hōs) they (autoi) also (kai).

 

The Sixth Seal

 

Rev. 6:12 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) I saw (eidon) when (hote) [the little lamb, v1, ER] opened up (ēnoixen) the (tēn) seal (sphragida), the (tēn) sixth one (hektēn), and (kai) [a] great (megas) earthquake (seismos) caused itself to come to pass (egeneto).  

 

And (kai) the (ho) sun (hēlios) caused itself to become (egeneto) black (melas) as (hōs) [a] hair (trichinos) sackcloth (sakkos).  

 

And (kai) the (hē) whole (holē) bright moon (selēnē) caused itself to become (egeneto) as (hōs) blood (haima).

 

Rev. 6:13 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) the (hoi) stars (asteres) of the (tou) heaven (ouranou) fell (epesan) into (eis) the (tēn) land (gēn), as (hōs) [a] fig tree (sukē) throws (ballei) the (tous) unripe figs (olunthous) of her (autēs), she being quaked (seiomenē) under (hupo) [authority, AE] of [a] great (megalou) wind (anemou)

Rev. 6:14 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) the (ho) heaven (ouranos) was separated away (apechōristhē) as (hōs) [a] little scroll (biblion) being coiled (helissomenon).  

 

And (kai) every (pan) mountain (oros) and (kai) island (nēsōs) were moved (ekinēthēsan) out (ek) of the (tōn) places (topōn) of them (autōn).

 

Rev. 6:15 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) the (hoi) kings (basileis) of the (tēs) land (gēs), and (kai) the (hoi) great ones (megistanes), and (kai) the (hoi) tribunes (chiliarchoi), and (kai) the (hoi) wealthy ones (plousioi), and (kai) the (hoi) strong ones (ischuroi), and (kai) every (pas) slave (doulos) and (kai) free one (eleutheros) hid (ekrupsan) themselves (heautous) into (eis) the (ta) caves (spēlaia), and (kai) into (eis) the (tas) rocks (petras) of the (tōn) mountains (oreōn).

 

Rev. 6:16 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) they say (legousin) to the (tois) mountains (oresin) and (kai) to the (tais) rocks (petrais), “Fall (peseta) upon (eph’) us (hēmas), and (kai) hide (krupsate) us (hēmas) from (apo) [the] face (prosōpou) of the one (tou) causing himself to sit down (kathēmenou) upon (epi) the (tou) throne (thronou), and (kai) from (apo) the (tēs) anger (orgēs) of the (tou) little lamb (arniou);

Rev. 6:17 (LIT/UBS4) because (hoti) the (hē) day (hēmera) has come (ēlthen), the (hē) great (megalē) [day, RE] of the (tēs) anger (orgēs) of them (autōn)!

 

And (kai) who (tis) can inherently power himself (dunatai) to be stood (stathēnai)!?”
