REVELATION

 

Chapter 1

Rev. 1:1 (LIT/UBS4) [A] revelation (apokalupsis) of Jesus (Iēsou) Christ (Christou), which (hēn) the (ho) God (theos) gave (edōken) to him (autō) to thoroughly show (deixai) to the (tois) slaves (doulois) of him (autou) things which (ha) [are] necessary (die) to cause themselves to come to pass (genesthai) in (en) acceleration (tachei)

 

And (kai) [[the] revelation, RE] was signified (esēmanen), he having sent (aposteilas) [[the] revelation, RE] through (dia) the (tou) messenger (angelou) of him (autou), to the (tō) slave (doulō) of him (autou), John (Iōannē);

Rev. 1:2 (LIT/UBS4) who (hos) witnessed (emarturēsen) the (ton) Word (logon) of the (tou) God (theou), and (kai) the (tēn) witness (marturian) of Jesus (Iēsou) Christ (Christou), whatever things (hosa) he saw (eiden).

Rev. 1:3 (LIT/UBS4) [A] happy (makarios) [slave, v1, RE] [is] the (ho) [slave, v1, RE] reading up (anaginōskōn), and (kai) the (hoi) [slaves, v1, RE] hearing (akouontes) the (tous) words (logous) of the (tēs) prophecy (prophēteias), and (kai) watching (tērountes) the (ta) [words, RE] having been written (gegrammena) in (en) her (autē), because (gar) the (ho) time (kairos) [is] near (engus).

 

Rev. 1:4 (LIT/UBS4) John (Iōannēs), to the (tais) seven (hepta) churches (ekklēsiais), to the (tais) [churches, RE] in (en) the (tē) Asia (asia);

 

grace (charis) to you (humin), and (kai) peace (eirēnē) from (apo) the one (ho) being (ōn), and (kai) the one (ho) [who, AE] was being (ēn), and (kai) the one (ho) causing himself to come (erchomenos);

 

and (kai) from (apo) the (tōn) seven (hepta) spirits (pneumatōn) which (ha) [are] in sight (enōpion) of the (tou) throne (thronon) of him (autou);

 

Rev. 1:5 (LIT/UBS4) and (kai) from (apo) Jesus (Iēsou) Christ (Christou), the (ho) witness (martus), the (ho) believable one (pistos), the (ho) firstborn one (prōtotokos) of the (tōn) dead ones (nekrōn), and (kai) the (ho) beginning one758 (archōn) of the (tōn) kings (basilēon) of the (tēs) land (gēs);

 

the one (tō) loving (agapōnti) us (hēmas), and (kai) having let us loose (lusanti hēmas) out (ek) of the (tōn) sins (hamartiōn) of us (hēmōn) in (en) the (tō) blood (haimati) of him (autou).

Rev. 1:6 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) he made (epoiēsen) of us (hēmas) [a] Kingdom (basileian) of sacrificial priests (hiereis) to the (tō) God (theō) and (kai) Father (patri) of him (autou)!

To him (autō) [be] glory (doxa), and (kai) the (to) power (kratos) into (eis) the (tous) ages (aiōnas) of the (tōn) ages (aiōnōn), truly (amēn)!

 

Rev. 1:7 (LIT/UBS4) Behold (idou), he causes himself to come (erchetai) with (meta) the (tōn) clouds (nephelōn)!  

 

And (kai) every (pas) eye (ophthalmos) shall cause itself to gaze at (opsetai) him (auton), and (kai) the ones who (hoitines) pricked him out (exekentēsan auton).  

 

And (kai) all (pasai) the (hai) tribes (phulai) of the (tēs) land (gēs) shall beat themselves2875 (kopsontai) over (ep’) [the sake, AE] of him (auton).  

 

Yes (nai), truly (amēn)!

 

Rev. 1:8 (LIT/UBS4) “I (egō) am (eimi) the (to) Alpha one (alpha), and (kai) the (to) Omega one (ō) says (legei) Lord (kurios, YHWH), the (ho) God (theos, YHWH).  

 

“[I am, RE] the one (ho) being (ōn), and (kai) the one (ho) [who, AE] was being (ēn), and (kai) the one (ho) causing myself to come (erchomenos), the one (ho) all powerful (pantokratōr).”

Rev. 1:9 (LIT/UBS4) I John (Iōannēs), the (ho) brother (adelphos) of you (humōn), and (kai) partaker together with (sunkoinōnos) [you, RE] in (en) the (te) mental pressure (thlipsei), and (kai) [in the, RE] Kingdom932 (basileia), and (kai) [in the, RE] endurance (hupomonē) in (en) Jesus (Iēsou), caused myself to become (egenomēn) in (en) the (tē) island (nēsō), the one (tē) being called aloud (kaloumenē) Patmos (Patmō), through (dia) [the sake, AE] of the (ton) Word (logon) of the (tou) God (theou), and (kai) the (tēn) witness (marturian) of Jesus (Iēsou).

 

Rev. 1:10 (LIT/UBS4) I caused myself to become (egenomēn) in (en) Spirit (pneumati) in (en) the (tē) Lord's (kuriakē) day (hēmera), and (kai) I heard (ēkousa) behind (opisō) me (mou) [a] great (megalēn) sound (phōnēn) as (hōs) of [a] trumpet (salpingos),

 

Rev. 1:11 (LIT/UBS4) saying (legousēs), “What (ho) you see (blepeis) write (grapson) into (eis) [a] little scroll (biblion).

 

And (kai) send (pempson) [it, AE] to the (tais) seven (hepta) assemblies (ekklēsiais), into (eis) Ephesus (Epheson), and (kai) into (eis) Smyrna (Smurnan), and (kai) into (eis) Pergamos (Pergamon), and (kai) into (eis) Thyatira (Thuateira), and (kai) into (eis) Sardis (Sardeis), and (kai) into (eis) Philadelphia (Philadelpheian), and (kai) into (eis) Laodicea (Laodikeian).”

 

Rev. 1:12 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) I turned back (epestrepsa) to look at (blepein) the (tēn) voice (phōnēn) which (hētis) was speaking (elalei) with (met’) me (emou).

 

And (kai) having turned back (epistrepsas) I saw (eidon) seven (hepta) golden (chrusas) lamp stands (luchnias).

 

Rev. 1:13 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) in (en) [the] midst (mesō) of the (tōn) lamp stands (luchniōn) [was] [the] son (huion), like (homoion) of [a] mortal (anthrōpou), he having enrobed himself in (endedumenon) [a] foot-length (podērē) [robe, RE], and (kai) having girdled himself around (periezōsmenon) toward (pros) the (tois) breasts (mastois) [in, AE] [a] golden (chrusan) girdle (zōnēn) .

 

Rev. 1:14 (LIT/UBS4) But (de) the (hē) head (kephalē) of him (autou) and (kai) the (hai) hairs (triches) [were] white (leukai) as (hōs) wool (erion), white (leukon) as (hōs) snow (chiōn).  

 

And (kai) the (hoi) eyes (ophthalmoi) of him (autou) [were] as (hōs) [a] flame (phlox) of fire (puros).

Rev. 1:15 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) the (hoi) feet (podes) of him (autou) [were] ones like (homoioi) copper (chalkolibanō), as (hōs) having been inflamed (pepurōmenēs) in (en) [a] furnace (kaminō).  

 

And (kai) the (hē) sound (phōnē) of him (autou) [was] as (hōs) [the] sound (phōnē) of many (pollōn) waters (hudatōn).

 

Rev. 1:16 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) he is holding (echōn) in (en) the (tē) right (dexia) hand (cheiri) of him (autou) seven (hepta) stars (asteras).  

 

And (kai) out (ek) of the (tou) mouth (stomatos) of him (autou) [a] keen (oxeia) double-mouthed (distomos) Rhomphaia4501 (Rhomphaia) was caused to go out (ekporeuomenē).  

 

And (kai) the (hē) appearance (opsis) of him (autou) [was] as (hōs) the (ho) sun (hēlios) shines (phainei), in (en) the (tē) inherent power (dunamei) of him (autou).

 

Rev. 1:17 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) when (hote) I saw (eidon) him (auton) I fell4098 (epesa) toward (pros) the (tous) feet (podas) of him (autou) as (hōs) [a] dead one (nekros).  

 

And (kai) he put (ethēken) the (tēn) right (dexian) [hand, AE] of him (autou) upon (ep’) me (eme), saying (legōn), “Do not be made fearful (mē phobou).  

 

I (egō) am (eimi) the (ho) first one (prōtos), and (kai) the (ho) last one (eschatos),

 

Rev. 1:18 (LIT/UBS4) and (kai) the one (ho) living (zōn), and (kai) I caused myself to become (egenomēn) [a] dead one (nekros).

 

And (kai) behold (idou), I am (eimi) living (zōn) into (eis) the (tous) ages (aiōnas) of the (tōn) ages (aiōnōn)!  

 

And (kai) I have (echō) the (tas) keys (kleis) of the (tou) death (thanatou), and (kai) of the (tou) grave (hadou).

Rev. 1:19 (LIT/UBS4) Therefore (oun), write (grapson) the things (ha) you saw (eides), and (kai) the things (ha) [which, AE] are (eisin), and (kai) the things (ha) [which, AE] are about (mellei) to cause themselves to come to pass (genesthai) together with (meta) these things (tauta);

 

Rev. 1:20 (LIT/UBS4) the (to) Mystery (mustērion) of the (tōn) Seven (hepta) Stars (asterōn) which (hous) you saw (eides) upon (epi) the (tēs) right (dexias) [hand, AE] of me (mou), and (kai) the (tas) seven (hepta) lamp stands (luchnias), the (tas) golden ones (chrusas).

 

The (hoi) seven (hepta) stars (asteres) are (eisin) messengers (angeloi) of the (tōn) seven (hepta) assemblies (ekklēsiōn).

 

And (kai) the (hai) lamp stands (luchniai), the (hai) seven ones (hepta), are (eisin) seven (hepta) assemblies (ekklēsiai).”
