Chapter 16

Rom. 16:1 (LIT/UBS4) But (de) I introduce (sunistēmi) to you (humin) Phebe (Phoibēn), the (tēn) sister (adelphēn) of us (hēmōn), she being (ousan) [a] minister (diakonon) also (kai) of the (tēs) assembly (ekklēsias), of the one (tēs) in (en) Cenchrea (Kenchreais);

 

Rom. 16:2 (LIT/UBS4) in order that (hina) <you may cause yourselves to receive>  her (autēn) to yourselves (prosedexēsthe) worthily (axiōs), in (en) [the] lord (kuriō).

 

And (kai) <may> the (tōn) holy ones (hagiōn) stand alongside (parastēte) to her (autē) in (en) perhaps (an) whatever (hō) practical issue (pragmati) she may need (chrēzē) of you (humōn).

 

Because (gar) she (autē) also (kai) was caused to become (egenēthē) [a] prostate4368 (prostatis) of many (pollōn), and (kai) of me (autou), of myself (emou).

 

Rom. 16:3 (LIT/UBS4) Cause yourselves to embrace (aspasasthe) Priska (Priskan) and (kai) Aquila (Akulan), the (tous) workers together with (sunergous) me (mou) in (en) Christ (Christō) Jesus (Iēsou);

 

Rom. 16:4 (LIT/UBS4) ones who (hoitines), over (huper) [the sake, AE] of the (tēs) soul (psuchēs) of me (mou), <put> the (ton) neck (trachēlon) of themselves (heautōn) under (hupethēkan) [authority, AE],

 

to whom (hois) absolutely not (ouk) only (monos) I (egō) give thanks well (eucharistō), BUT (alla), all (pasai) the (hai) assemblies (ekklēsiai) of the (tōn) ethnic groups (ethnōn) [give thanks well, RE] also (kai).

 

Rom. 16:5 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) of the (tēn) assembly (ekklēsian) down in (kat') [the] house (oikon) of them (autōn), cause yourselves to embrace (aspasasthe) Epaenetus (Epainetos), the (ton) beloved (agapēton) of me (mou), one who (hos) is (estin) [a] beginning offering (aparchē) of the (tēs) Asia (Asias) into (eis) Christ (Christon).

Rom. 16:6 (LIT/UBS4) Cause yourselves to embrace (aspasasthe) Mariam (Marian), one who (hētis) labored (ekopiasen) much (polla) into (eis) you (humas).

 

Rom. 16:7 (LIT/UBS4) Cause yourselves to embrace (aspasasthe) Andronicus (Andronikon) and (kai) Junia (Iounian), the (tous) genera together with (sungeneis) me (mou), and (kai) fellow captives (sunaichmalōtous) of me (mou);

 

certain ones who (hoitines) are (eisin) highly significant (episēmoi) among (en) the (tois) apostles (apostolois), ones who (hoi), before (pro) me (emou), also (kai) have come to pass (gegonan) in (en) Christ (Christō).

 

Rom. 16:8 (LIT/UBS4) Cause yourselves to embrace (aspasasthe) Amplias (Ampliaton), the (ton) beloved (agapēton) of me (mou) in (en) [the] lord (kuriō).

 

Rom. 16:9 (LIT/UBS4) Cause yourselves to embrace (aspasasthe) Urbanus (Ourbanon), the (ton) worker together with (sunergon) us (hēmōn) in (en) Christ (Christō), and (kai) Stachys (Stachun), the (ton) beloved (agapēton) of me (mou).

 

Rom. 16:10 (LIT/UBS4) Cause yourselves to embrace (aspasasthe) Apelles (Apellēn), the (ton) approved one (dokimon) in (en) Christ (Christō).

 

Cause yourselves to embrace (aspasasthe) the ones (tous) out (ek) of the (tōn) Aristobulus (Aristoboulou).

 

Rom. 16:11 (LIT/UBS4) Cause yourselves to embrace (aspasasthe) Herodion (Hērōdiōna), the (ton) genus together with (sungenē) me (mou).

 

Cause yourselves to embrace (aspasasthe) the ones (tous) out (ek) of the (tōn) Narcissus (Narkissou), the ones (tous) being (ontas) in (en) [the] lord (kuriō).

 

Rom. 16:12 (LIT/UBS4) Cause yourselves to embrace (aspasasthe) Tryphaena (Truphanan) and (kai) Tryphosa (Truphōsan), the ones (tas) laboring (kopiōsas) in (en) [the] lord (kuriō).

 

Cause yourselves to embrace (aspasasthe) Persis (Persida) the (tēn) beloved one (agapētēn), one who (hētis) labored (ekopiasen) much (polla) in (en) [the] lord (kuriō).

 

Rom. 16:13 (LIT/UBS4) Cause yourselves to embrace (aspasasthe) Rufus (Rhouphon), the (ton) called out one (eklekton) in (en) [the] lord (kuriō), and (kai) the (tēn) mother (mētera) of him (autou) and (kai) of me (mou).

 

Rom. 16:14 (LIT/UBS4) Cause yourselves to embrace (aspasasthe) Asyncritus (Asugkriton), Phlegon (Phlegonta), Hermes (Hermēn), Patrobas (Petroban), Hermas (Herman), and (kai) the (tous) brothers (adelphous) with (sun) them (autois).

 

Rom. 16:15 (LIT/UBS4) Cause yourselves to embrace (aspasasthe) Philologus (Philologon), and (kai) Julia (Ioulian), Nereus (Nērea) and (kai) the (tēn) sister (adelphēn) of him (autou), and (kai) Olympas (Olumpan), and (kai) all (pantas) the (tous) holy ones (hagious) together with (sun) them (autois).

 

Rom. 16:16 (LIT/UBS4) Cause yourselves to embrace (aspasasthe) one another (allēlous) in (en) [a] holy (hagiō) kiss (philēmati).

 

All (pasai) the (hai) assemblies (ekklēsiai) of the (tou) Christ (Christou) cause themselves to embrace (aspazontai) you (humas).

 

Rom. 16:17 (LIT/UBS4) But (de) I accost (parakalō) you (humas) brothers (adelphoi), to scope in on (skopein) the ones (tous) making (poiountas) the (tas) dichotomies (dichostasias), and (kai) the (ta) scandals (skandala), besides3844 (para) the (tēn) orthodoxy (didachēn) of which (hēn) you learned (emathete), and (kai) recline out (ekklinete) from (ap’) them (autōn)!

 

Rom. 16:18 (LIT/UBS4) Because (gar) the ones (hoi) like these (toioutoi) absolutely do not slave (ou douleuousin) for the (tō) lord (kuriō) of us (hēmōn), Christ (Christō), BUT (alla), for the (tē) belly (koilia) of themselves (heautōn)!   

 

And (kai) through (dia) the (tēs) benevolent word (chrēstologias), and (kai) eulogy (eulogias), they fake out (exapatōsin) the (tas) hearts (kardias) of the (tōn) ones not of evil (akakōn)!

 

Rom. 16:19 (LIT/UBS4) Because (gar) the (hē) attentive hearing (hupakoē) of you (humōn) caused itself to become suitable (aphiketo) into (eis) all (pantas), therefore (oun) I rejoice (chairō) over (eph’) you (humin).

 

But (de) I desire (thelō) you (humas) to be (einai) wise (sophous) into (eis) the (to) good (agathon) [work, v15:18, RE] but (de) unmixed185 (akeraious) into (eis) the (to) malicious (kakon) [work, v15:18, RE].

 

Rom. 16:20 (LIT/UBS4) But (de) the (ho) God (theos), the one (tēs) of peace (eirēnēs), he shall shatter (suntripsei) the (ton) Satan (Satanan) under (hupo) the (tous) feet (podas) of you (humōn), in (en) [a] hurry (tachei).

Rom. 16:21 (LIT/UBS4) Timothy (Timotheos) causes himself to embrace (aspazetai) you (humas), the (ho) worker together with (sunergos) me (mou), and (kai) Lucius (Loikios), and (kai) Jason (Iasōn), and (kai) Sosipater (Sōsipatros), the (hoi) genera together with (sungeneis) me (mou).

 

Rom. 16:22 (LIT/UBS4) I (egō) Tertius (Tertois), the one (ho) having written (grapsas) the (tēn) epistle (epistolēn) in (en) [the] lord (kuriō), I cause myself to embrace (aspazomai) you (humas).

 

Rom. 16:23-24 (LIT/UBS4) Gaius (Gaios), the (ho) host (xenos) of me (mou), and (kai) of the (tēs) whole (holēs) assembly (ekklēsias), he causes himself to embrace (aspazetai) you (humas).

 

Erastus (Erastos), the (ho) house steward (oikonomos) of the (tēs) city (poleōs), and (kai) Quartus (Kouartos), the (ho) brother (adelphos), [each, AE] causes himself to embrace (aspazetai) you (humas).

 

Rom. 16:25 (LIT/UBS4) But (de) to the one (tō) inherently powering himself (dunamenō) to stabilize (stērixai) you (humas) down according to (kata) the (to) Evangelism (euangelion) of me (mou), and (kai) the (to) preaching (kērugma) of Jesus (Iēsous) Christ (Christou), down according to (kata) [the] revelation (apokalupsin) of [the] Mystery (mustēriou), it having been hushed (sesigēmenou) [in, AE] ageless (aiōniois) times (chronois),

Rom. 16:27 (LIT/UBS4) To God (theō) alone (monō), who (hō) [is] wise (sophō), [is] the (hē) glory (doxa) into (eis) the (tous) ages (aiōnas), through (dia) Jesus (Iēsou) Christ (Christou), truly (amēn)!
